Forget-me-nots, vintage lace and strand of pearls
4x4 inches / oil on panel
This "Little Gem" oil painting is small in stature but big on impact. From my collection, this handpainted forget-me-not brooch is a favorite, particularly placed amidst a string of pearls and vintage lace with tatted edges. With such delicacy in creating these gems, it required a particularly delicate touch of the brush to interpret them in this oil painting.

Thank you SO much! It was a joy to paint this little gem, and being so tiny required a lot of precise detailing. Thank you for your lovely comments! Jeanne

Thank you SO much, Mo! I'm delighted to have met you through Cindy's Friday Show & Tell. It's my first exposure to the idea of show & tell and I'm loving this fabulous new way to make new friends and see all the gorgeous images. While everyone takes photos of their beautiful surroundings, I actually paint mine! Thank you for your lovely comments! Jeanne

Thank you SO much, Betsy! I'm delighted you found me through Mo. I only just met her today, too! It's always such a joy painting these "Little Gems" and I hope to have many more as the holidays approach. Lovely to meet you and thank you for your comments! Heading over to your beautiful site now again.... Jeanne
this one - well, all of yours! - is lovely - reminds me of a fabergé egg with its delicate work! beautiful paintings - thank you!
Thank you SO much, Dusty! This is quite an intricate painting particularly for it's size. I've actually done two paintings of Faberge eggs, both the same but one was 4 in. and the other 6 in. at a client's request. The older I get, the stronger my glasses are becoming w/ all this tiny work! :o) Thank you for your delightful comments, Jeanne
