soul and purpose

"Through my paintings I hope to communicate a personal enthusiasm and respect for the natural world, thus encourage in others an active stewardship of same." -- JEANNE ILLENYE

transferware triptych of copeland spode blue and white, silver candlesticks, dripping candles, pink english roses, classical stil life realism, contemporary

English Heritage Triptych
8x24 inches / oil on panel
SOLD
Here are the three panels completed and arranged as a single composition.  The panels are a slight bit uneven in light exposure as each was photographed separately in an attempt to avoid swayed distortion that occurs with the digital cameras.  Originally I had created the painting without the candlesticks but when my client suggested adding one, I immediately realized we needed a few as well as the candle snuffer to create balance.  Adding drippy candles just put it over the top!  Such is the fabulous blending of creativity when artist and client work together on a concept.  That's what's so exciting about commissioned paintings both for me as the artist and my clients.  If you wish to commission a painting of your collection kindly email jeanneillenye@sbcglobal.net for a quote.

Thank you SO much, Irit! These Copeland Spode transferware pieces are always a crowd pleaser! These panels have quite a lot of detail considering they're just 8 inches so the subjects are much smaller than life. To comfortably add more detail I'd like to paint two much larger panels, each focusing on my favorite pieces, the vegetable and the sugar presented as solitary elements. Thank you for your lovely compliments! Jeanne

Stunning, but you don't do anything less then... :)

Thank you SO much, Gerald! I think these porcelains set against the black background really pop! Afterall, one can't really go wrong with blue & white transferware! Your kind remarks are much appreciated. Jeanne

Thank you SO much, Mariano! I enjoy painting transferware, particularly as it's scenes tell a story. That's partly why I'd like to focus a larger painting on a single piece, so as to really elaborate on the intricacies of the copper engraver's fine art and craftsmanship. In the case of this triptych, as my client is of the famed Copeland family and had sought for an artist/painting for over three years, I'm extremely flattered that these paintings will reside amongst his vast collection. Thank you for your delightful comments! Jeanne
