where I will be featuring this most cheerful color in the form of botanical style paintings and colored drawings. No doubt inspired by our particularly long, cold winter this year with a loss of power resulting in 18th century style cooking in the main fireplace while my studio and other rooms in the house were 34 degrees, as well as your many requests for more florals, I've taken this opportunity to begin the New Year with a new, most cheerful pursuit which I hope you enjoy! Thank you for your devotion these past two years following my blogs. My best wishes to you and your families for a most delightfully fulfilling New Year!

Jeanne this is beautiful work. So makes me wish it was summer.

Thank you so much, Marjorie! After enduring dark gray days for almost two months so far with only a few hours of sunshine, several feet of snow topped with ice resulting in going days without power (my studio was 34 degrees) and cooking meals in the main fireplace, I too, look back fondly at the sublime days of Summer and with anticipation of Spring's emeregence of early snowdrops and crocuses. Thank you for your "warm" comments! Jeanne

Today I was asked such a particularly wonderful question by a patron of the arts, that I thought I'd share it with you, "What does it feel like to look at this painting (or any painting) and know you created it?" My response was quite simply, in a word...GRATEFUL. Grateful for the dextrous ability to paint, for my eyes to see, for my intelligence to comprehend, and mostly for my heart to feel a divine presence in all things.
