"Through my paintings I hope to communicate a personal enthusiasm and respect for the natural world, thus encourage in others an active stewardship of same." -- JEANNE ILLENYE

still life oil painting old world classical style bowl fruit dinged farmhouse table nails Brilliant Red Cherries in White Porcelain Bowl (SOLD)

SOLDRich contrasts define this otherwise simple bowl of brilliant red cherries. Of particular interest to me were the leaves with their raised veins and evidence of insects, as well as the always favored rustic wood table — all adding the trademark elements of age in my work.

Lovely Jeanne.

Thank you, Jacqui, for your keen observations! I tried to really capture the contours of each cherry and the depth of the cluster as it cascaded over the bowl. Thanks again! Jeanne

With your permission, I would like to link to your painting and blog on my own blog. I am an art teacher and your painting is the perfect example of using light (value, intensity, direction, temperature)to describe the form of the object. Beautiful painting, and great work! Visit me at: http://ohmygoache.wordpress.com/. I would also like to add you to my blogroll.

Thank you SO much, Sharon! I'm delighted to have my paintings referred to for your class. I'm predominantly self taught so that's quite flattering, indeed. Yes, I'd love you to add my work to your blogroll. I'll visit your site, too!
