Zinnias in a Tin Can
7x5 inches / oil on panel
SOLD
Here is another nostalgic country cottage bouquet fresh from grandmother's garden. This is actually a companion piece to Sweetpeas in a Mason Jar, painted especially for my client in memory of her grandmother who would pick these charming nosegays for her and arrange them in the most humble vessels found quickly at hand in her kitchen. I always love creating these types of paintings that have a special meaning and bring back the warmth of times past. In fact, I'll have another sentimental painting coming soon from another client, which will be a Daffodil silver spoon in a jelly jar with a label Grammy Nancy's preserves. These are really my favorite kinds of commissions.

another incredibly lovely painting!
Thank you SO much, Suz! I love these more casual subjects like a nosegay gathered fresh from the garden and the vessel being anything close at hand in the kitchen! :o)
This is such a gorgeous painting! The colors and humble can makes it one of my favorite all-time paintings of yours. :) It's beautiful!
Oh, thank you SO much, Joan! That little touch of what I refer to as country casual is just so cozy and homey...even if one never had a garden. I think most folks at least recall childhood memories of gathering little handfuls of wildflowers or even clover from the lawn to stuff into a tin can or jelly jar for Mom. :o)
