soul and purpose

"Through my paintings I hope to communicate a personal enthusiasm and respect for the natural world, thus encourage in others an active stewardship of same." -- JEANNE ILLENYE

Sterling Silver Spoon with Daffodils

Oh, there I am again, shown in the reflection as I was painting alongside the South window of my studio. Just a little bit of fun! This sterling silver teaspoon features long, twisted foliage with two tiny daffodil blossoms reminiscent of the Art Deco style. Look for lots more to be added to my Silver Series in the new year!

single nest #23
10x8 inches / oil on canvas panel
SOLD
While this is nest #23 in my "Little Gems" series, it is not the 23rd time I've painted a nest.  For many years I'd included nests and birds in my larger still life paintings, some of which can be seen here on this blog (click link on header).  I have numerous paintings in my mind's eye that have been begging to become a reality, many of which include nests, so keep checking this year for a new twist on the presentation of these exquisitely detailed marvels of nature.

Pink Tree Peony #9
4x4 inches / oil on panel
SOLD
It's been quite awhile since I painted this series, but as the old year ends and the new one is on the horizon, I've been browsing through my many stacks of nearly completed paintings that were abandoned in lieu of commissioned work.  With only a few more commissions from 2010 remaining for completion, I thought it would be nice to clear my head and spend a little time adding some final details to a select few from these piles before heading down the home stretch on the last 2010 commissions.

A TIME TO REFLECT AND BID THANKS
Sincerest heartfelt thanks to all of you for helping make this another great year! I truly can’t tell you how much it means to me to have such wonderful patrons, colleagues, friends and followers who not only enrich my life on so many levels, but who aid in the process of making it all physically possible to continue painting!
With gratitude,
Jeanne
Wishing you joy in this most magical season!
