Having been so immersed in my pet portrait commissions (see other blog) I've been watching Autumn go by from my studio windows!  The leaves changed and fell before I could grab them for a painting, the berries on all the shrubs have been eaten by the birds and deer, and the raspberry and grape leaves have turned color and dropped way before I even got outside!  This is my favorite season second only to Spring and yet I've been unable to submerge myself into it as planned.  Therefore, when I received a request from a client to revisit this theme, I was inspired.  Maybe I'll venture outside tomorrow to see what remains of the seasonal color so that I may share some more still lifes with you in the coming weeks.

I'm loving those pumpkins, Jeanne! I've been wanting to paint some of those big orange autumn fruits and have been concentrating on finishing up other projects. But you've inspired me so I know I'll HAVE to get to it sometime soon. Happy painting!

Thank you SO much, Diana! I've been so glued to my pet portraits that when I had a request for a retake on an older painting of mine, I became inspired! I've been watching the leaves changing, the berries being eaten off the bushes...basically WATCHING Autumn go by without really participating via my still life paintings. This seasonal subject got me motivated to pick up the pace on my portrait commissions and get some new work on this blog! Looking forward to seeing your pumpkins, too! Jeanne

Love your Pumpkins, Painting...

Thank you SO much, Rudhi! It was fun to recreate this painting again in a larger format at my client's request. I'd normally have done this as a horizontal composition but when asked to do it vertically I used the reflections to balance the painting. Thanks for your comments!

That pumpkin painting of yours makes me want to taste them... It's really nice painting you got there.

Thank you Roberto. I'd like a little slice of pumpkin pie, actually...hmmm...erhaps I should do a painting of that! :o) Thanks!
