These charming little Pansies that I've been painting lately are actually rather liberating in a sense, as they afford me the opportunity to let loose on some color combinations that I'd not normally choose; I'm having such fun with them!  Up next are two more with a new surprise combo on the palette again, so keep checking!

Jeanne --

I adore pansies. I have four antique pansy paintings (they were a favorite subject, apparently, of Victorian and Edwardian era ladies of gentle upbringing to paint. I am so glad that you paint them, and in varied colors, as well! They are so cheerful and fresh, whether they appear in antique paintings or in your wonderful Twenty-first Century renditions.

Thank you SO much, Carol! Pansies seem to carry the colors of a rainbow! How fortunate that you have a few Victorian paintings featuring this charming subject. What a delight to dote upon all those "smiling faces"! :o) I, too, adore all the beauty of the Victorian era particularly their appreciation of the natural world. Thank you for your lovely comments!
