Resting upon an antique Honduras cigar box, an intricate nest of twigs, grass & leaves protects three precious white eggs with pure blue, downy soft feathers fluttering lightly as a startled mother takes flight.

Thank you SO much, M! As so many of my paintings are from my "Little Gems" series, I chose to paint a larger canvas featuring one of my many nests collected over the years. Of course the eggs are my own addition as nests are always left in their natural environment until the snow flies! Thanks for your lovely comment. Jeanne

Thank you SO much Suz! This concept was originally a bit of an accident while I was designing the composition for this canvas. When placing the blue feathers, I had the idea to add one fluttering down from above...and then considered that it might be fun to show a little more of the scene by hinting at mom's presence.
