This detail (although a blurry image) of "American Goldfinches" shows a large Spode Blue Italian bowl which has been severely cracked and an attempted repair made over time. Bruised golden pears, dew touched grapes with ants, and Goldfinches (not shown) are realistically portrayed for a uniquely abundant arrangement.

Jeanne, this is just beautiful. I love that you painted the lovely old Spode bowl in its battered state. I have beat up pottery that cannot be used for it original purpose which has bound new life and dignity in still life paintings.

Thank you SO much, Susan! I always like to add a sense of age to my work, and a piece of cracked & chipped porcelain is always an interesting element. Afterall, they are works of art in themselves! Thank you for your lovely comments. Jeanne
