Catching up now on my commission work and charitable commitments with only a few paintings still pending, so I'll be dedicating my focus on a subject which, according to my survey on the right, is both your favorite and mine: FLOWERS! This was supposed to be my "Year of Flowers" so maybe I'll soon be able to pursue my heart's desire! Here's a prelude. . . .

Hi Jeanne, I am a great admirer of your work. I just added a thumbnail of your recent work on my blog. I hope it is ok with you.
Best Regards
Joan
Hi, Joan, Thank you so much for your lovely comments. Of course, I'm delighted that you put a thumbnail reference to my work on your blog! Thank you kindly, Jeanne
I am just in awe of your talent!
Thank you so much! What a wonderful compliment! Over the years I've been feeling more comfortable painting the intricacies of peonies. When one sees so much beauty in our natural world, and is in complete and utter awe, interpreting this vision on canvas can be extremely humbling. I think that's why I paint still lifes instead of landscapes; I can't imagine attempting to pour all that complicated, intricate beauty into one little canvas. A mere petal is magnificent to me. Hi Jeanne,
Now this is the way a peony should be painted. You work inspires me to work harder.
Thank you SO much, Joan! Like acquiring knowledge on any subject, the further we delve into our work and the more we learn, the more humbling it is as we increasingly realize the vastness of the knowledge yet to be acquired. Jeanne
