Cute idea...as always, you could make a burlap sack look good...

Thank you so much, Holly! This actually began as a classical still life but when it was nearly complete, I thought it needed a little something extra to elevate it from the predictable. After having just worked the rugged surface of the orange previously posted, I was in that mode. Jeanne

Sweet little still life Jeanne! I especially love the color combination...the complimentarys shimmer.

Thank you so much, Mel. Butter yellow with blue & white porcelains are always well received, and this particular subject has been on my list to paint for far too long! The foliage seems almost poetic to me. I've been missing painting my florals as I've actually had a number of dog portrait commissions. Once in awhile I have to take a break and get back to flowers even if only for a day! Jeanne

Thank you so much, Joan! I'd created this painting rather quickly with the intent to donate it to a dog rescue charity but ended up donating another instead. I think now that I no longer have the pressure of time, I may revisit this painting and really make it "pop" adding more realism to the porcelain and the leaves. Jeanne
