"Through my paintings I hope to communicate a personal enthusiasm and respect for the natural world, thus encourage in others an active stewardship of same." -- JEANNE ILLENYE

orange tangerine burst classical realism

SOLD

Here I endeavored to capture the character of this luscious fruit with its cupped peels, shadows of seeds beneath the surface, one poking through halfway, as well as the torn flesh of the segments.

...I'm laughing! After my "Orange Burst" sold I just wanted to do something else similar in concept and mood. Thanks Mark! Jeanne

Hello. This is my favorite on your blog. I like the freshness and bright color of the fruit. Makes me want to take a bite. I'm an oil painter as well. My favorite subjects are exteriors and interiors. I just finished a series of seven paintings of Venice based on photographs (but not photo realism) that I took while visiting there in early June. I came upon your site via Blogger's "next blog" feature. Lovely work!
Regards,
Ann

Thank you so much, Ann! It was my intent to project vivid contrasts in this painting thus underscoring the strong composition. It's always a joy to browse the web and periodically find someone with mutual interests! I'm so glad you stopped by to visit. Thank you, Jeanne
