Red & Golden Delicious Apples on Antique Embroidered Lace Tablecloth

"Apples 'n Lace"
12x24 inches / oil on canvas
A delicate painting of red and golden Delicious apples arranged on a highly polished table.  The reflections within the surface add a lovely dimensional quality, all of which accentuate the gentle folds of a freshly pressed antique cotton tablecloth.  The hand embroidered cutwork lace with blue thread and embroidered netting edge are often found in antique linens.

"The Lost Ribbon" Robin's Nest with blue egg, pink apple blossoms, blue satin ribbon, Jeanne Illenye Little Gems Still Life Oil Painting, Realism

"The Lost Ribbon"
8x8 inches / oil on canvas panel
SOLD
This month's theme:  Spring
Typically, my paintings don't actually tell a story, but this one does with the blue satin ribbon entwined within this delicately woven Robin's nest tucked amidst pink apple blossoms.  This painting was inspired by a few birds here who found a ribbon . . . lost it and then found it again. Over the past few years I've watched it fluttering in the garden, then hanging from a birdhouse, and now I see it in a hanging basket where it is tucked into yet another nest!  Rest assured, nests are never removed from their sites; rather, I photograph them and create a composition in my studio.

transferware triptych of copeland spode blue and white, silver candlesticks, dripping candles, pink english roses, classical stil life realism, contemporary

English Heritage Triptych
8x24 inches / oil on panel
SOLD
Here are the three panels completed and arranged as a single composition.  The panels are a slight bit uneven in light exposure as each was photographed separately in an attempt to avoid swayed distortion that occurs with the digital cameras.  Originally I had created the painting without the candlesticks but when my client suggested adding one, I immediately realized we needed a few as well as the candle snuffer to create balance.  Adding drippy candles just put it over the top!  Such is the fabulous blending of creativity when artist and client work together on a concept.  That's what's so exciting about commissioned paintings both for me as the artist and my clients.  If you wish to commission a painting of your collection kindly email jeanneillenye@sbcglobal.net for a quote.

spode copeland camilla plate and covered sugar with silver candlestick and pink english roses, classical contemporary oil painting realism

"English Heritage"
8x8 inches / oil on panel
Third Panel in Triptych Series
SOLD
The third and final panel in this triptych features two pieces in the Copeland Camilla pattern. Of particular delight to both my client and myself was this chubby little covered sugar bowl with it's top set askew like a quirky tophat!  I've been so charmed by this particular piece that I may feature it as a solitary element in a future painting.

Email for more photos -- some are looking a little too red and some with glare
Oh, I am the worst photographer! No patience. Always a glare and shows too much red here. Nevertheless, it shows fairly well for you to get the idea.  This is one of my last truly classical paintings for some time, although I have a closet full of large classical pieces in progress.  Seems that I've been (deliberately) headed in a new direction these past three years and have abandoned the larger classical works for a while.  I suspect one day I'll revisit them as they are really beautiful florals, but I want to make them quite spectacular with an emphasis on fluidity and openness of composition.  Therefore, I'll need to go through my new phase in order to revisit them in the future.  Hope you enjoy this particular classical painting until then.  Of course if you wish to commission a classical still life painting I'll be happy to oblige. Just email me for a quote at jeanneillenye@sbcglobal.net
If you're interested in more photos I'll work a bit harder at getting an accurate representation of color as these latest pics appear a bit reddish.

Painting is oil on stretched canvas and is varnished for protection.

Triptych Panel One
8x8 inches / oil on panel
SOLD
This is the first panel of the triptych previously introduced out of sequence.  As you see them all the images will be seamless.  Each panel stands alone as a complete composition while together they make a complete painting as well.  That was the appeal for my client when I'd first introduced the concept.  As I complete a number of other commissions still pending after a flurry of orders last month, I'll begin again to post more regularly and link to ebay auctions as well...so keep checking.  In the meantime, you may wish to peruse my newly updated website at http://www.jeanneillenye.com or if you have an idea for a custom painting, please feel free to email me at jeanneillenye@sbcglobal.net.
