Just a postscript on this painting:
It will be included in Sannie Terese BurĂ©n's new book about her uniquely interesting family history.  Sannie is a writer, freelance journalist and owner of the B&B Aeblegaarden in Denmark.   I invite you to visit their beautiful website featuring Sannie and Jacob's charming Bed & Breakfast along with gorgeous photogrqaphs and prose about living spiritually and in harmony with nature.  Also be sure to read more about the farm's history and their renovations.
Wish I could just magically blink and be there!

  2. Thank you SO much, Irit! Seems I paint a lot of fruit and desserts, so it was just a natural transition into flatware...one needs something with which to devour all those tasties! :o) Bon appetit! Jeanne

  3. Jeanne, Really nice handling of making silver look like what it is, from direction of light to shadows.

  4. Thank you SO much, Gerald! It took quite a bit of effort to work the straight lines and subtleties in the fork tines within a small six inch panel, as well as the reflections within the spoon which are miniscule. The knife was actually the most fun capturing color variations and precise shapes of the highlights in that wonderfully wide blade. Jeanne
