Rich tones and low lighting enhance this charming nosegay which recalls smaller works by the Dutch Masters. Browning leaves and a Red Admiral butterfly communicate the essence of age as life passes through time.
So lovely and sweet... I can practically smell these beautiful flowers.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Diana! The intimate setting of this nosegay conveys a particular sweetness and delicacey, enhanced by the foraging Red Admiral butterfly. Your comments are truly appreciated! Jeanne
ReplyDeleteVery beautifully conceived and rendered.
ReplyDeleteI love it.
Thank you so much, Gary! Deeply cupped antique roses and misty glass jars are favorite subjects of mine which are enhanced by the deep earth tones and dramatic lighting that we attribute to old world ambience. Here I injected a little vibrancy with the white lilies and an added touch of interest from the delicate butterfly. Your delightful comments are much appreciated! Jeanne
