What could better signify the emergence of the season than a plate of bright red strawberries swimming in a swirl of heavy cream! A delightful combination, here presented on a Spode plate for contrast and added brilliance in a red, white and blue combination . . . just in time for July 4th Independence Day!

I love the way the cream looks like it is actually swirling! Great!

Thank you Shant! These little fruit paintings are my favorite to paint!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Madison! I debated removing some of the swirl effect, but to paint a smooth white surface would not be an accurate depiction of the cream. In reality those very subtle highlights, reflections and shadows exist since the subject is backlit from the right. The cream is very thick and gathers in the impressions around each seed, as well. Thank you for your comments! Jeanne
ReplyDeleteYUMMMM! Looks like you could eat it!
ReplyDeleteThank you Fawn! ...and indeed, I did!! :) Jeanne
