classical oil painting fruit flowers basket english roses peaches, roses, grapes in basket with nest

"The Captive Rose"
8x10 inches / oil on canvas
SOLD

The title bespeaks the risk of a soft, tender beauty being crushed as one of the plush English roses is captive under a pile of fuzzy peaches and dew touched grapes within the basket.

classical fruit oil painting with birds american goldfinches, cracked spode blue italian bowl, pears blue transferware

16 x 20 inches / oil on canvas
SOLD
This detail (although a blurry image) of "American Goldfinches" shows a large Spode Blue Italian bowl which has been severely cracked and an attempted repair made over time. Bruised golden pears, dew touched grapes with ants, and Goldfinches (not shown) are realistically portrayed for a uniquely abundant arrangement.

18 x 24 inches / oil on canvas
SOLD
A pair of curious Chickadees explore this collection of fresh peaches at the Farmer's Market. Often people ask me about my inspiration and reference. Here, as with much of my work, is a prime example where every element in the composition was painted entirely from memory.

English roses & raspberries in Oriental bowl

8x10 inches / oil on canvas
SOLDPainted for an antique oval gilt frame given to me by the owner of Graystone Gallery in NY where I'd exhibited over a decade ago, this shows my former signature. While this painting is in a private collection, I'd be delighted to entertain inquiries to paint a similar subject on a commissioned basis. Email: jeanneillenye@sbcglobal.net
