"Through my paintings I hope to communicate a personal enthusiasm and respect for the natural world, thus encourage in others an active stewardship of same." -- JEANNE ILLENYE

Here is a more classical style painting in both subject and presentation. It is romantic and rich in contrasts — there’s something particularly fresh and appealing about velvety, butter yellow roses with vibrant blue and white porcelains. The Spode Blue Italian teacup and antique silver spoon are from my collection.

Your sense of color is just beautiful - love the pale orangey peach against it's pale blue compliment.

Thank you, Sadie for your astute observations. These buttery roses tinged with warm apricot or peach are not only luscious, but as you pointed out, complementary to the teacup on a secondary and even tertiary basis. Thank you so much for your wonderful comments! Jeanne

Thank you so much, Madison! The details are tedious but very rewarding. Jeanne
